� Facilitating 25 online communities on the global portal�s topic pages on development issues � knowledge contributing to effectiveness;
� Establishing 50 Country Gateways � whose platforms for knowledge sharing and collaboration support local ownership of the development agenda, build capacity to scale development, and support enterprise development;
� Hosting AiDA, the largest online directory of development activities, for greater harmonization and effectiveness;
� Piloting local platforms to help manage development projects � and soon, to help plan them as well, building local ownership of the development agenda;
� Giving strategic direction to Research & Training Centers in Africa and Asia, building local capacity to scale development;
� Operating a global public sector e-tendering service and deploying it locally with partners; increasing competition and transparency and building enterprise; and
� Managing an e-Government Grants Program, helping governments improve operations, build institutional capacity, and scale development.
The Development Gateway is making its impact through a growing number of partnerships:
� Over 300 partners from around the world expand the Development Gateway�s potential by contributing content, strategic advice, technology, and other resources.
� Financial and in-kind support come from 22 countries, firms, and organizations. This represents significant progress in building a stakeholder base since the Development Gateway was first conceived.
� The Development Gateway is devoting 70% of its budget to work at the local level. The money is going where it can have the greatest impact.

The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors composed of directors from 11 countries (Australia; China; Germany; India; Italy; Japan; the Republic of Korea; Luxembourg; Mali, sponsored by the Netherlands; Pakistan; and Rwanda), two businesses (MphasiS and Transnational Computer Technology), the United Nations, and the World Bank Group.
The Board is chaired by Dr. Mamphela Ramphele, Managing Director of the World Bank. In addition, the Development Gateway is guided by a five-member Advisory Board chaired by Anne Jones, Director of the American Express Mutual Fund Group, and by an eight-member Editorial Committee chaired by K. Y. Amoako, United Nations Executive Secretary, Economic Commission for Africa.
